Biography:
Robert Fox started his career at IBM in Charlotte in 1999, and over the next 20+ years grew into a seasoned data science practitioner and leader (working primarily in the financial services sector—most recently as SVP & Head of Data Science & Analytics at Bank of America Merchant Services).
Robert holds a Master’s degree from Charlotte and has stayed engaged in both teaching and learning at the University. A passionate advocate for the discipline of data science, Robert actively codes, queries, analyzes, and prototypes solutions to stay technically sharp. His areas of expertise include practical AI, machine learning, cloud computing, distributed database systems, data visualization, data mining, full-stack development, and the integration and automation of machine learning pipelines (MLOps).
Robert is also a recognized expert in AI risk management and governance, with a strong focus on model interpretability, responsible innovation, and the practical challenges organizations face when operationalizing ML / AI.
